Hi, I'm working on a new version of the citizens search tool. And I'll tell you why.

I'm using this new version to test a completely new kind of technology (well new for this site), which will let me make a more interactive, user-friendly experience (at least I hope).

In this beta you have:

• Search for a specific citizen.[kind of new] You need to write at least 4 characteres of the name you're looking for and a list of available citizens with that name/part of the name will be displayed.
• Search for citizens in a given location.[new] Only those locations with citizens in the database are listed.
• Search for citizens with a given profession.[just as before]

• Tooltips.[new] Little hovering texts with info about what each field is, and how its used (you need to move the mouse for half a second over the field you're interested in)
• Sortable results.[new] When you get the results, many of the columns (name, location, etc) are sortable client-side (ie, no reload is needed)
• Better internationalization support. [new] Professions and locations are available in german now, though I've to translate the tips, titles and the like.

Maybe the changes are not a "whooaaa" thing, but I need to start small to test. And many changes are not visible but required a whole rewrite of a lot of internal code.

So...the "classic" citizens search is still available and will be kept available until I'm sure that almost everybody is happy with the new one. It is your chance to report bugs, and to ask for new features (the search by location was requested by Earwin Spellstrike - sorry Earwin it took so long hope you like it).

At the very least, the next features I want to add:

• German translation (I'll need some help here, I'll post the messages needed to be translated later)
• Documentation. You can notice a '?' sign on the right-top in the title, it will pop-up a dialog with docs about the use of the tool.

Please, you can send comments using the contact-us form, but I really prefer that you post in the forum Thread (here) in the hope that a thread will spawn more ideas. If you are already registered on this page you should be registered in the forums already.

Lastly but not least ... thanks to Torg Snowflake and Kailer for helping with the testing (among other things).

I've added a new Alsius map, it was made by Torg Snowflake (who worked very hard on it, give him a hug if you see him) from La Jihad clan and me.
